No art....

No art this weekend. I have 6 g/kids here. Well, they did art. They made Christ-mas crafts. I didn't do much with them as I get very edgy. I need to relax when they are creating. If they get glue or glitter all over so what? (YIKES) If they drop paint on my sand colored Berber carpet, who cares? (me, I do care) Perhaps I should make an empty room in the basement into a KIDZ Craft room. (hm, great idea.)
Blessings.

Inner critic....

As many of you know, sometimes we have that nasty inner critic who slams us at every step. This is mine. She is truly a mean one! I'm trying to name her. The only name that comes to mind is Nasty Nellie. What do you think?

Snow...............

I don't think I like snow. It has finally started falling here in Western NY this a.m. . Usually we get it by November. I enjoyed not having to drive in it. I will post pictures later. When the world wakes up. I think I will play hookey this morning. As I really don't want to drive into the country , then up & down S curved roads. YIKES!!! Nope I don't like snow. Now I'm off to get dressed & take the dog out. arrgghh

Blessings,
Lynne

The Cross-finished!

After the paint was dry on the ghost writing, I cut it to pcs. Then edged each pc. with a deep dark purple. Then I buried all of my anger at the Cross..... (I also used a stiff bodied white titanium on the cross)

ghost writing. I wrote my thoughts four different directions

Then gesso'd over them, then painted

Here's the cross. Why???? What am I doing? Well in church today. The Pastor told us to leave our bad feelings at the Cross. I needed extra help with this so I made an altar call. The lovely lady who prayed for me/over me told me to bury the uglieness, anger, rage at the cross.......Of course it is up to me to continue this, as we all have free will. So this is my way to bury it at the cross..... Hugs Lynne

scrape painting

The orange, yellow & purple is done by scrape painting. The crazy white is done with a fun tool I found.

classes

I'm taking an online class with Violette @ http://www.violette.ca/ I love her work. She inspires me! I think the name of the class is Journal Bliss. The first assignment was to use paper towels. Here's my attempt.

Bumble Bee to the rescue.........

My sister is always bringing stuff over for me. On her latest excursion she found some old books. 1956. I groaned when I saw her come in the door with them. BUT they are beautiful. I was breathless as I looked at the pages. Now my delemia is do I copy the pages onto my art work or do I RIP them out? hmmmmmm..........Will post pictures as soon as I can. The natives are still here so I have to steal quiet moments as they come......
ps: My sister's nickname is Bee & I always call her Bumble Bee when I get into my crazy arty mood!

to be or not to be?

That is the question I ask myself daily. Do you want to be an artist or not? If so. make time for your art. Even if it's only 30 minutes. Do it!!
It shouldn't matter if others like my art, as long as I do. But it does.
I have been working on a lot of projects over the last year. paper mache', altered books, junk art. To name a few.............
I've found several blogs I follow. My fav.s are Violette'sFolkArt, Millande Art Community for Women.
Have to run, the natives, (g/kids) are restless.............
